Privacy policy

We collect the minimum needed to show your results and, if you ask, connect you with an installer. Here is exactly what that means.

What we collect

When you use our calculators we collect the details you enter: your name, phone number, email address, postcode, and the answers you give about your property and upgrade plans (such as battery size and income band). We also collect standard technical data such as pages visited and, where present, advertising campaign parameters.

Why we collect it

  • To show and send you your calculator results
  • To contact you about your rebate and quote options, where you have asked us to
  • To match you with an accredited installer who services your area, where you request quotes
  • To improve the site and measure which pages and campaigns are useful

Who we share it with

If you request quotes, we pass your contact details and calculation summary to an accredited installer partner who services your postcode so they can contact you. We may receive a fee for that referral. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with anyone else except service providers who help us run the site (such as hosting and email), or where the law requires.

Storage and security

Your information is stored on secure systems, access is limited to people who need it to operate the service, and we keep it only as long as needed for the purposes above or as required by law.

Marketing and opting out

We may email you about your results, scheme changes that affect the figures we showed you, and related offers. Every email includes an unsubscribe link, and opting out stops marketing while preserving any quote request you have already made.

Access, correction and complaints

You can request a copy of the information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, by emailing hello@solarbatteryrebates.com.au. We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). If you are unhappy with our response you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.
